I finished yesterday's painting. Then I discovered the camera's battery is dead and the canvas is too large to scan. I'll post a picture as soon as I get a battery. Just wanted to post this since I promised I would post an image of the painting.
I studied art in New York City back in the 80's. I have been working as a professional artist and as a designer since 1992. Prior to that I was a naval officer for 10 years and then an importer of European antiques and fine arts. In 1992 my antiques business developed into a design and art studio. I have not looked back since then and decided to follow my true passion in life, art. My specialties are architectural renderings, murals, commission work, and furniture design. My preferred medium is oils on canvas although I'm very comfortable with watercolor because of my experience in creating architectural renderings. I would like to share with you my progress as an artist and my thoughts about art.
As of summer 2009, I moved to New York and started working as an art teacher for the public school system. My school is located in the Bronx. I have not painted much during this transitional period, soon though, very soon!
I love God, people, and life. My favorite poem is a Spanish poem "Soneto a Cristo crucificado" unattributed to a specific author, especially the third verse which translates to: Thy love so moves me naught to prize above Thee, that were there not a Hell I yet would fear Thee and were there not a Heaven I would love Thee. Translation by Art Eschenlauer, Easter 1996
